About Us
The University of Minnesota’s Department of Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) is a star in the university’s Institute of Technology. It’s one of the nation’s top research departments, with award winning faculty members, and successful, accomplished alumni.
The department’s pioneering research garners local, national and international acclaim and recognition. The faculty includes leading authorities on a wide range of computer science specialties, thus the curriculum is constantly upgraded to reflect the latest scientific and technological advances. Following graduation, CSE graduates are heavily recruited by innovative technology companies and go on to do stellar work, both locally and nationally.

(CRA Research News, January 2007) - 16 CSE faculty members received the NSF Faculty Early Career Development (CAREER) Award, since the inception of the program in 1995. This number of awards is among the highest for Computer Science departments nationwide.
