The following is an incomplete list of fellowship opportunities that may be of interest to Computer Science Graduate Students. Please be sure to read all of the information at the individual web sites for eligibility, requirements and deadlines. The Graduate School Fellowship Office also maintains a list of fellowships that may be of interest.
American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS) - Science and Technology Policy Fellowships
Prestigious fellowships that provide significant career-enhancing opportunities to learn about the policy making process by connecting scientific professionals with federal decision makers.
Department of Energy Computational Science Graduate Fellowship (DOE CSGF)
Department of Energy High-Performance Computer Science Fellowship
Department of Homeland Security Fellowships
Limited to US citizens
Ford Foundation Diversity Fellowships
For PhD students who are U.S. citizens or nationals interested in a career in teaching and research at the college level. Fellowships available for predoctoral dissertation and postdoctoral students.
GAANN Fellowships
A program proposal by faculty or departments that includes request for fellowships. GAANN Fellowships are for US citizens/permanent residents and require submission of the FAFSA form.
IBM PhD Fellowship Program
Must be nominated by faculty, and have completed at least one year of their PhD studies.
Microsoft Research Graduate Fellowship Program
Limited to 3 per University - nomination by department, 2nd or 3rd year PhD student. Contact if interested.
National Physical Science Fellowship
For 1st year PhD and also for those just beginning research.
National Science Foundation Graduate Research Fellowships
Limited to US citizens/permanent residents who are first year, or beginning second year graduate students (more details on the NSF web page).
