Application Information

You are required to complete the U of M Graduate School Application before you complete the Computer Science Application. If you have not done so, please go to the Graduate School application site. You will receive a U of M Graduate Application Number (Apply Yourself ID). This number can be found in the upper right corner of the printed copy of your Graduate School application. This is the number that you need to enter on our application so that we may track all of your application materials.

IMPORTANT: Submit your recommender names and e-mail addresses on the CSE Application only. Do NOT include this information on the Graduate School’s Application.

Please note, you will also need the following information before completing the CSE on-line application:

  • U of M Graduate Application Number (Apply Yourself ID) - Your Apply Yourself ID (AY#) can be found in the upper right corner of the printed copy of your Graduate School application.
  • Date you have taken or plan to take the GRE (MS & PhD only)
  • The name and email addresses of at least three individuals who will submit a letter of recommendation on your behalf
  • A statement of purpose, either a curriculum vitae or resume, and scanned copies of all your transcripts saved as one (PDF) file. GRE scores may also be included in this PDF file.
