Application Procedure and Requirements

We only admit new students for the Fall term of each year. The application process involves both Graduate School and Departmental requirements.

  1. Complete the Graduate School application (Apply Yourself). Please read and follow all directions carefully. See the Graduate School Application Procedure and Requirements page for more information.
    IMPORTANT: Submit your recommender names and e-mail addresses on your CSE (Computer Science) Application only. Do NOT include this information on the Graduate School’s Application.
  2. Complete the Computer Science On-line application. See the Computer Science Department Application Procedure and Requirements page for more information.

Application Deadlines

  • December 1 is the application deadline for PhD candidates who wish to be considered for a fellowship.
  • January 1 is the application deadline for PhD candidates to be considered for additional assistantships (TA or RA).
  • February 1 is the application deadline for all MS candidates. (MS students are expected to come with sufficient funding to complete the program.)
  • April 1 is the final deadline for those who do not need to be considered for financial assistantships, although we strongly urge applicants to submit their application well before this deadline.
  • June 15 is the application deadline for MS in Software Engineering
