Windows Account Configuration
Where do I save my files when I am using an Windows machine?
Save your files to your Y: drive. Your Y: drive is mapped to your UNIX account ~/windows directory.
Why don't I see the files I saved on my Windows desktop yesterday?
Sometimes your roaming profile (the one stored on the server) is not
available when you log in to Windows. Windows creates a local profile on the
machine you are using. Since your desktop is stored in your profile,
if you save files on your desktop at this point, they will be stored
on the locale machine. Later, when you log in again and get your
roaming profile, those files will not be there. This is why you should
always save files on your Y: drive.
