IT Labs Print Quota
Free printing versus Pay for printing
Each semester, each student in IT Labs is given a $40 quota of free printing. This allows users to
print, without charge, 500 black and white pages, or 250 color pages, or a combination of both
(where one color page is equivalent to two black and white pages with a total of 500 pages).
In other words, each black and white page printed reduces your $40 quota by $0.08, each color page
printed reduces your $40 quota by $0.16.
Once your quota is used up, you can pay for print jobs by using the pay-[printer_name] queues
and your U-card.
- Send a print job to the pay-[printer_name] queue.
- Take your U-card to the printer release station that is located next to the printers.
- Insert your U-card into the Debitek card reader and choose your print job on the monitor.
Your print job will then be released to the printer and the print charge will be deducted
from your U-card. You need to have sufficient funds available on your U-card for the
print job to be released.
