The CS&E department is proud to announce that the National Science Foundation (NSF) has awarded Assistant Professor Dan Keefe a CAREER Award. Keefe's grant is titled Picturing Motion: Analyzing Multidimensional Time-Varying Data through Perceptually Accurate Exploratory Visualization.
Keefe's research develops new computational tools for analyzing large time-varying scientific datasets through exploratory visualization. His work integrates ideas from art/illustration, perception, human-computer interaction, computer graphics, and data computation to support new accurate integrated modes of visualizing and querying spatially complex data that change over time, such as high-resolution biomechanics data.
The Faculty Early Career Development (CAREER) Program offers the National Science Foundation's most prestigious awards in support of junior faculty who exemplify the role of teacher-scholars through outstanding research, excellent education and the integration of education and research within the context of the mission of their organizations.
