The Feb. 28 episode of “Impact the World” will feature professor Nikos Papanikolopoulos and his team from the Center for Distributed Robotics. The center is at the forefront of research in robotics and has developed a wide range of robots for search and rescue missions monitoring the environment and a wide range of other applications. The successful company ReconRobotics was founded in 2006 to commercialize the center’s Scout Robots which are now used by the military and law enforcement agencies in more than 30 countries to save lives.
The Big 10 Network’s “Impact the World,” hosted by actor Dennis Haysbert, is an eight-part series highlighting 24 stories from all 12 Big Ten universities that demonstrate the benefits of the scientific, medical and sociological advances to people in the U.S. and around the world.
