Ph.D. student Anoop Cherian received a Best Student Paper Award for his paper, “Robust Sparse Hashing” at the the 2012 IEEE International Conference on Image Processing (ICIP) in Orlando, Florida. The paper describes a robust image search algorithm based on the concept of sparse coding. The paper was written by Anoop Cherian, Vassilios Morellas and Nikolaos Papanikolopoulos. IEEE ICIP is one of the largest conferences in image processing.
