U of M Team Advances to World Finals

A University of Minnesota Computer Science and Engineering team has advanced to the World Finals of the ACM Programming Contest.

The team of Elliot Olds, Stefan Atev and Vishal Shah was coached by Carl Sturtivant and Bobbie Othmer.

The invitation reads: "From a field of 3,150 teams competing at 114 sites worldwide and representing 1412 universities from 75 countries, your team is one of seventy-three teams advancing to the World Finals of the 28th Annual ACM International Collegiate Programming Contest sponsored by IBM. Hosted by the Czech Technical University and co-hosted by Charles University, the competition will be held March 28-April 1, 2004, at the Obecni Dum in Prague, The Czech Republic, courtesy of Prague Mayor Bem."
