On Friday, Sept. 29, University of Minnesota officials will host a celebration to dedicate the Scholars Walk and the Wall of Discovery, mounted on the north side of the Electrical Engineering/Computer Science Building, 200 Union St.
The dedication and unveiling will occur from noon - 2 p.m. on the walk. Free snacks will be provided by Dairy Queen, while supplies last.
The Scholars Walk monument stretches between the McNamara Alumni Center, 200 Oak St. S.E., and Pleasant Street. It honors the University’s academic and research accomplishments, many of which are highlighted in the Wall of Discovery.
Affixed to the EE/CS building, the Wall of Discovery spans 253-feet-long. The wall includes images from sketches, drawings and letters from the pioneering faculty and alumni represented.
