The ACM International Collegiate Programming Contest (ICPC), sponsored by IBM, will host its North Central North American Regional Programming Contest on November 11. Teams from the University of Minnesota's CSE department and other local colleges will work to solve difficult programming problems, competing against teams at other contest sites in Canada, Wisconsin, North and South Dakota, Iowa, Nebraska, and Kansas.
Approximately 180 teams will participate in the region and the top few teams will advance to the 2007 ACM-ICPC World Finals in Tokyo, Japan, March 12-16, 2007. CSE faculty members Carl Sturtivant will serve as the U team coach, Chuck Swanson as site coordinator, and Chris Dovolis as the head judge, with support from the ACM Student Chapter.
