On Wednesday, February, 21, CSE Assistant Professor William Schuler will be featured on the University of Minnesota’s U of M Moment radio show in a story called, “Improving Speech Recognition Technology.” This radio program will broadcast at various times throughout the state.
Speech recognition software has been around for several years, but apart from helping people dictate notes, there has only been limited usage for the average person. Schuler is working on a project that is looking for ways to improve speech recognition techniques, and make them more useful for people – especially elderly citizens or people with disabilities.
