The Chaska Herald newspaper featured a story this week about a University of Minnesota team that won the College Bowl National Championship in Los Angeles last weekend. The story highlighted the participation of CSE freshman Robert Carson, a Chaska, Minn. native, who served on the five-person team. The team defeated the University of Southern California for the title. This is the sixth time the U of M has won the national College Bowl.
The College Bowl is a game of general knowledge, helped by quick responses to questions. Colleges and universities compete throughout the school year in preparation for the national tournament each spring. Other U of M team members include team captain Andrew Bockover, a senior history and political science major; Meredith Johnson, a junior majoring in linguistics; Andrew Hart, an undeclared freshman; and Ezra Lyon, a graduate student in ecology, evolution, and behavior.
