A story in The Minnesota Daily this week featured CSE virtual reality research taking place in the Digital Design Consortium (DDC) Laboratory in the University’s Walter Library. The story highlights collaborations between CSE Associate Professors Gary Meyer and Victoria Interrante with the University’s Department of Architecture.
Through the collaboration, CSE students work with architecture students as part of the Immersive Design Research Program, in which students use virtual reality goggles, a head mount with cameras, and a 30-foot-wide screen to immerse themselves in their design.
In addition to the print story, The Minnesota Daily also posted a video story about CSE’s virtual reality work on its Web site. In the video, CSE Associate Professor Victoria Interrante talks about the various uses of the virtual reality lab. To view the print story, visit 'Architects experience virtual reality.'
