CSE Reaches Out to Prospective College Students

August 3, 2007

In preparation for the University’s next wave of admissions, CSE teaching faculty members Chuck Swanson and Chris Dovolis have been participating in U of M prospective student recruiting events. At these events high school students – mostly seniors – and their parents have the opportunity to learn about different degree programs and disciplines the University has to offer. In addition to a general overview program and the opportunity to visit department booths, information sessions are also part of the event. Information sessions give the students, and parents, a more in depth opportunity to learn about a discipline of interest. The CSE department hosts two information sessions, one highlighting robotics and the other demonstrating the use of the department’s virtual reality lab, located in the Digital Technology Center. CSE graduate students host the information sessions and help field questions from prospective students and their parents.
