New CSE graduate students will arrive in the department this week for the CSE graduate student orientation. As part of the program, the new students will be introduced to department administration and learn about the resources available to them through the department. A picnic for the new students will conclude the event.
The CSE graduate program is highly competitive, as the CSE department accepts approximately 70-80 new graduate students each year from a pool of approximately 900-950 applicants. The graduate program offers the degrees of Master of Computer Science (M.C.S.), Master of Science in Software Engineering (M.S.S.E.), Master of Science (M.S.) and Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in computer science. Many CSE graduate students go on to become faculty members at top universities and senior leaders at major companies throughout the world.
