Twin Cities Metro Magazine featured CSE Professor Nikos Papanikolopoulos and the Scout robot as one of the ‘Top 100’ interesting things in the Twin Cities in the October, 2007 issue. Just on newsstands this week, the issue features the top places to eat, visit, do, and other interesting and notable things relating to the Minneapolis area.

The Scout robot, developed in the CSE department, can be thrown on to nearly any surface and gather images and data to be viewed by the remote control operator. The technology saves lives by putting the robots in harm’s way, instead of people. The Scout is currently being used by the United States Army and various police agencies.
