A group of CSE female graduate students are attending the Grace Hopper “Women in Computing” Conference in Orlando, Florida October 17-20. The conference, put on by the Anita Borg Institute for Women and Technology and the Association for Computing Machinery (ACM), is intended to spur the research and careers of women in the field of computer science. The theme of this year’s conference is "I Invent the Future." The conference is co-located with the Richard Tapia Celebration of Diversity in Computing conference.
At the conference, students network with other women in the computer science field and visited with recruiters from large companies, including Google and Microsoft, both sponsors of the event. Other major sponsors include IBM, Hewlett Packard, Sun Microsystems, Intel, Cisco, and Yahoo, many of whom also recruit CSE students and work with our faculty.
