CSE Professor, grad student discuss the need for more women, minorities in sciences

CSE Professor Maria Gini

A story in The Minnesota Daily this week focused on the need for more minorities and women students in science and technology fields. The story centered on a new grant many are hoping will help provide resources to this initiative.

CSE Professor and Associate Department Head Maria Gini was quoted as saying that the gap in this demographic is resulting in programs missing out on talent. CSE graduate student Shana Watters also spoke passionately about the need for more encouragement among these demographics.
