Professor Wins Best Journal Paper Awards

CSE professor Stergios Roumeliotis was recently awarded the Best Paper Award from the International Conference on Intelligent Robots and Systems (IROS’ 06) held in Beijing in October 2006. He co-wrote the paper, “Multi-robot SLAM with Unknown Initial Correspondence: The Robot Rendezvous Case,” with CSE Ph.D. student Xun (Sam) Zhou. Roumeliotis also recently received a Best Journal Paper Award from the Robotics Society of Japan for a paper he co-wrote entitled, “Slip-Compensated Path Following for Planetary Exploration Rovers.”
