CSE undergraduate student Grant Miller was selected for Honorable Mention in the Computing Research Association's (CRA) Outstanding Undergraduate Award competition for 2008. Only students with work considered to be “exemplary” are given an honorable mention from CRA.
Miller has gained experience working on a few different computer science research projects. He works with CSE professor Nikos Papanikolopoulos on a project relating to computer vision, in which they collect statistics using vision-based vehicle tracking. His focus in this project was on the classification of vehicle trajectories, as well as improving tracking. Last summer, Miller also worked with CSE professor Gopalan Nadathur on a project designing a garbage collector for Teyjus, as it runs the programming language, Lambda Prolog.
