A research team led by CSE professor Jaideep Srivastava and colleagues Professors Vipin Kumar, Arindam Banerjee, and William Schuler, secured a major grant from NASA to study the applications of data mining to the monitoring and analysis of operational health of airborne vehicles. The grant totals nearly $1 million and will run until 2010.
The project is part of a larger NASA initiative on the Next Generation Air Safety, which will benefit NASA missions, the Federal Aviation Administration, and the United States Air Force's Air Mobility Command. This research is carried out in partnership with the NASA Ames Research Center and United Technologies.
