KTLK FM radio featured CSE professor John Riedl as an expert guest in an interview this morning, discussing the launch of a new Wikipedia-related open-source search engine, called Wikia Search. The new search engine went live this morning and is reported to serve as a competitor to Google. Connecting to other Web tools, Wikia Search was co-founded by the founder of Wikipedia, Jimmy Wales.

Riedl specializes in collaborative filtering, systems and information filtering. He often speaks as an expert on the topic of online technology and social networking issues. In his radio interview, he discussed how Google Search, and search engines in general, impact businesses and how people use the Web.
