CSE grad student James Faghamous was elected to be the Vice President of Student Affairs for the University of Minnesota’s Graduate and Professional Student Assembly (GAPSA) group on campus in November. Now, he is running for president of that group. Elections will be held next week.
GAPSA is responsible for representing the interests of graduate student at the University level. The slogan of Faghamous’s campaign is, ‘Help us help U!’ As part of his campaign platform, he is proposing a student newsletter, an arts and culture event program, funding workshops and support, thesis writing groups, advocacy committees for students from underrepresented groups, and other engagement events.
The GAPSA elections will go from Monday, April 7 at 8 a.m. until Wednesday, April 9 at 8 p.m. Voting can be done online and is open to all graduate and professional students who pay the GAPSA fee. For more information, visit, campus elections.
