CS&E Associate Department Head Joe Konstan was recognized as a Fellow of the Association for Computing Machinery (ACM) for his contributions to computing technology. ACM is the world's oldest and largest professional organization dedicated to the advancement of computer science.
Induction as an ACM Fellow is a great honor that brings high visibility. The ACM Fellows Program was established in 1993 to recognize and honor outstanding ACM members for their achievements in computer science and information technology and for their significant contributions to the mission of the ACM. The ACM Fellows serve as distinguished colleagues to whom the ACM and its members look for guidance and leadership as the world of information technology evolves.
Konstan is the University of Minnesota's third ACM Fellow and the second fellow in the Department of Computer Science. CS&E Department Head Vipin Kumar was inducted Fellow in 2006.
