The North American regional contests were held on Saturday, November 9. We competed in the North Central Region and were a host site. Seven team competed from here and about 150 in the region.
Our team, U Minn -Blue, came in first place in the region, dominating the competition throughout the five hour contest. Blue team members are James Esser, Jonathan Moon, and Elliot Olds. All competed last year and all have been active in TopCoder.
They will be invited to compete at the 27th Annual ACM International Collegiate Programming Contest World Finals in Beverly Hills, CA, March 22-26.
Another of our teams, U Minn - Yellow, consisting of Andrew Houchins, Ken Loomis, and Joe Wreshing finished in 19th place.
Two other teams from our department also competed.
