Special Cyber Security Event October 9, 2009

"Cyber Security Partnership Opportunity" will be presented October 9, 2009 in support of the nationwide Cyber Security Awareness month. The afternoon event will be held in ME 108.

1:30 - 1:45 - Remarks about the growing importance of Cyber Security by Commissioner Khanna
1:45 - 3:00 - Keynote by Dr. Ronald Ross, NIST

The federal administration has made Cyber Security one of its top priorities, as it is increasingly critical to the safety and well being of the nation. The month of October has been declared at the Cyber Security Awareness month, and a number of activities as the state and federal level are ongoing in support of it. Minnesota has a strong tradition of activity in this area, including research and teaching at the University of Minnesota and other colleges, policies and operations in the State Government, and products, services and advice in the Industry. These organizations also have a long-standing tradition of working together on joint programs and projects. Leveraging our expertise and experience towards creating a joint partnership in Cyber Security is the need of the hour. This event will serve as a kick-off towards this effort.
