The third round of TA offers will probably go out Thursday. This will be a small round. After that, offer will be made on an as needed basis over the summer and at the start of classes. We usually have a half dozen to dozen additional offers arise over the summer.
For students who have offers: class assignments will be made sometime in June, once we have background information and course preferences from the new incoming TAs.
For students who applied for a TA but have not yet received an offer: If you are a qualified PhD student and applied on time, but have not yet received an offer: we have a number of PhD students (over a dozen) who applied but have not yet gotten offers. I hope to be able to make offers to many students in this category, but how many students I am able to make offers to will depend on how many positions come up over the summer. If you are an MS student who applied: because of the number of PhD TA applicants I have not yet been able to consider MS students. If I am able to make enough offers over the summer then it is possible we'll have a few positions for which we have no qualified PhD applicants. In that case I'll be able to consider MS students.
