TA Update May 4

There will likely be a small (very small) round of TA offers at the end of this week or the beginning of next week. I understand there are still a large number of students looking for offers. I am hoping to be able to make additional offers beyond the upcoming round. However, at this point I need to wait and see how the budget situation develops; the budget may not be set until mid-summer. I understand this is frustrating for students who are waiting to hear about support. At this point we need to wait and hope for the best.

To summarize the current situation: two rounds of offers have already gone out. Most of these offers have been to continuing TAs. We still have a number of high priority applicants in the TA pool, including a number of current TAs who I have not yet been able to make offers to. At this point I'm only considering PhD students --- there are still enough unsupported PhD students in the TA applicant pool that it looks unlikely that I'll be able to make any Fall offers to MS students.
