Geometric computing and applications.
Ph.D. 1987, M.S. 1985, Computer Science, Purdue University
M.Tech. 1982, Computer Science, Indian Institute of Technology, Madras, India
B.Tech. 1980, Mechanical Engineering, Indian Institute of Technology, Madras, India
Janardan specializes in geometric computing and its applications. Broadly speaking, geometric computing is concerned with the design of efficient computational techniques for representing, reasoning with, and manipulating geometric entities. Janardan's work in this area encompasses combinatorial analysis, algorithm and data structure design, and software development. Application areas of current interest include computer-aided design and manufacture, computational structural biology, biomedical engineering, and query-retrieval in geometric/spatial databases. He is a Senior Member of IEEE and a member of the IEEE Computer Society.
