Hi, I am glad you decided to visit my web page. I am Sarbjit Singh. I am a graduate student in the Department of Computer Science at University of Minnesota. 

Although my parents are from India, I was born in a small city called Cumaná on the north east side of  Venezuela and have lived there for 24 years. I arrived to the United States on September 15th 1997.

I am married to beutiful Colombian girl by the name of Patricia. We have a 5 years old boy called Tejwant who shares my affection for video games.

Why did I decide to do my graduate studies in Minnesota?    I didn't ... My original plans where to take a long and well deserved vacations after doing my undergraduate degree. So packed with a camera, a beautiful lady and a adventure loving buddy, we took a plane heading Orlando. I don't know why, I don't know how, but we made a wrong connection at Miami  International Airport and ended up in Minneapolis. It took me a while to realize that I was not in Florida. 

Well, knowing not what to do, thousands of miles from my destination, and totally broke,  I needed a job fast.  You see, I love hamburgers, so I knew I would not survive in McDonalds. The second best thing I could think of, was about getting into the software industry. So I decided to make a visit to the  Computer Science department of the University of Minnesota and make a petition for a MS/Ph.D. degree in Computer Science. I spoke to this lovely lady who was the assistant of this other guy who had something to do with graduate admissions. She asked me about my qualifications, and I gave her a smile. She said, "that is not good enough". She asked about my GRE scores. I said "they are fine thank you, what about yours". To make this story short, it seems that my GRE scores where   married to the son of her GRE scores. So in some sense she and  I are kind of relatives. Now I belong to the Computer Science department and I receive an  e-mail from this lady every Friday to join her at some Coffee Lounge. (I know, this does not make sence!!!)

Personal Interests

I try to enjoy my life as much as I can. I like to meet  new people and learn about their lives. I like to experiment new things.  I used to hide from complicated things and reality as much as I can make my life easier for myself. But things just don't work out that way. Ii realized that life will not be easier if it just seems easier. Also, I believe that a person should not get trapped  in a small world created for him, he should go out and face the world.   

As any Desi, I enjoy Indian films. My favorite Indian actor is Apu, from The Simpsons. I also love to Cyber Chat and surf the Web.

My favorite TV Shows are The Simpsons,    Bevis and Butthead,  Married with Children,  Ren & Stimpy, Friends. I have a secret crush for  Patricia Bohorquez (my wife),  Drew Barrymore, Alicia Silverstone, Melanie Gran... and many more.
