Prof. Shekhar, a spatial database and data mining researcher and a Geo-Informatica co-EIC, coauthor-ed a Spatial Database text, and co-edited an Encyclopedia of GIS. Honors include IEEE-CS Technical Achievement Award, AAAS Fellow, and IEEE Fellow.
