Special Topics & Directed Study

Each semester the Computer Science and Engineering department offers a number of Special Topics courses taught in subject areas that are specific to individual faculty member areas of expertise. For information on Special Topics courses please visit the CS course list
Directed Study /Directed Research allows students to design and carry out an independent project, working one-on-one with a faculty member. For more information about directed study please visit the One Stop student page. In consultation with the DGS or program coordinator, coursework requirements may be fulfilled with up to 9 credits of Special Topics in Computer Science (as offered), Directed Research, and/or Independent Study. Directed Research and Independent Study must also be arranged with a CS faculty member.
