Homework 4 PART C revision - Second scenario is simplified. Your do not need to allow the partner team to previleges to other users. We do not expect you to use WITH GRANT OPTION in GRANT statement.

As announced in the lectures, the mid-term examination will be held on Tuesday 10/22 lecture. THe syllabus will include material (e.g. first four chapters of the textbook) covered by first two homeworks. A practice exam. will be held on Thursday 10/17.

(i) List an actor if there exists a movie featuring the actor and featuring Al Pacino.
(ii) List an actor if exists
	(intersect (set of movies featuring the actor), (set of movies featuring Al Pacino) )

The University bookstore is out of the supplementary book (Oracle SQL: The Essential Reference). Please do note that this book is not required and is not needed for examinations. Please share your copy of the book with other members of your team and study group. If you would like to get a copy anyway, consider bookstores like amazon.com or Barnes and Noble.
HW 1: problem 3-32 : There is no explicit integrity constraint in database schema relating EmpCommRate and subordinate level. Their relationship should be treated as a coincidence and should not be used for finding the subordinate level.
Consider using primary-key foreign-key joins to relate supervisors and subordinates. You may use abstract relational algebra syntax or SQL syntax for the answer. SQL syntax for self-joins are illustrated by Examples 3.35 and 3.36 in section 3.5.3. These example show pairing of supervisor with direct sub-ordinates. You may need to join the result again with one of the base table to get second level sub-ordinates.

Team formation:

Team formation: Oracle account will be shared by teams of two. Homeworks will also be submitted in groups of two.
Wait list: Overrides will be provided based on the available TA support. This will limit total enrollment in this class to 50 per TA including UNITE students. Well-documented exceptional cases ( seniors graduating at the end of Fall 2002 or Spring 2003 with MIS speciality) will be accommodated first.
