Senior Graduate Program Coordinator Sara Howard has been appointed to the Civil Service Senate, a body of the larger University governance system that represents Civil Service employees at the University of Minnesota.

Howard was elected to the committee by Civil Service employees throughout the University. Part of her new responsibilities will include matters concerning the employment conditions of Civil Service employees.

The Civil Service Senate works in a broad range of areas, including benefits and compensation, communications, and the Civil Service Employment Rules. Each year the Civil Service Senate strives to become more involved in University governance, and continues to support the University's mission of teaching, research, and service.

For more information on the charge of the committee and the many things they do to ensure Civil Service employees’ concerns are met, visit the Civil Service Senate’s website.

Please join the Department of Computer Science and Engineering in sending our congratulations to Sara Howard and the work she will be doing in University governance.
