Implementing Myriad with OLE DB

Myriad is a federated database system prototype developed here at the U of M. Its goal is to provide a testbed for investigating alternatives in architecture and algorithms for database integration, query processing and optimization, and concurrency control and recovery. OLE DB is Microsoft's solution to "Universal data access" but it does not deal with the semantic problems of a federated database. This project's goal is to implement Myriad using OLE DB as its foundatidon. The two systems should complement each other and Myriad will benefit significantly by taking advantage of the framework laid by OLE DB.
